Providers who participate in the Shared Services Alliance will have access to a child care substitute pool, to help child care programs fill temporary staff absences.
Child care center directors and registered family child care providers that are currently participating in the New Jersey Shared Services Alliance can post their need for a substitute, which cleared and trained substitutes can respond to if interested and available. Then, directors/registered family child care providers are able to hire a substitute from the post’s responses. Payment is made through the program’s current payroll process.
The Shared Services Alliance offers a variety of supports to child care providers. Reach out to your Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) agency to learn more about joining the Shared Services Alliance.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, pass a background check and complete a medical examination. Prior child care experience is helpful, but not required (training and support is available).
