Please be aware that there have been reports of potentially harmful emails claiming to be from the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Office of Licensing, most of these had a subject line reading "DCF Office of Licensing New Jersey (License)".  

These emails are NOT from DCF and the attachments should not be opened. All email correspondence from the Office of Licensing will be sent from email addresses ending in @dcf.nj.gov or [email protected].

 


There are many types of child care and early learning providers in New Jersey. These include:

  • Licensed Child Care Centers
  • Registered Family Child Care Homes
  • Approved Homes (In-Home and Family, Friend and Neighbor Providers)
  • Public and Private Schools
  • Summer Youth Camps

The Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development (DHS/DFD) is committed to increasing access to high-quality programs across the state. Providers who are interested in participating in the Child Care Assistance Program are required to be licensed, regulated, registered or approved, meet DHS/DFD requirements to qualify for funding and are required to comply with the requirements under the federal law.
