Description:
This 3 hour, web-based training will provide Out-of-School Time (OST) practitioners with a foundational understanding of the relationship between child development and behavior for school-age children ages 6-12. This training will equip participants with strength-based and developmentally appropriate strategies for supporting behaviors and engaging children and families. Part 2 will explore the relationship between social-emotional/cognitive development and behavior, investigate the impact environment has on behavior and social-emotional/cognitive development, identify developmentally appropriate strategies to understand and manage children’s behavior, detail a strength-based approach for communicating with families and provide strategies to develop positive partnerships with families.
