This 3 hour virtual training session is intended to serve as an introduction to child development concepts and developmentally appropriate practices that serve school-age children, ages 6-12. Part 1 will define the four major developmental domains, identify the developmental benchmarks of school-age children, outline developmentally appropriate practices, identify the types of meaningful learning opportunities for school-age children and plan for developmentally appropriate activities that meet the needs and interests of this age group in Out-of-School Time programs.
