Description:
This virtual training is facilitated over a video conferencing program. In this 2-day live virtual training session, participants will identify practices and strategies that support the needs of multi-language learners and facilitate children's acquisition of English while also supporting home language development. To bolster the connection between home and school, participants will examine strategies that strengthen family partnerships and learn how the learning environment can honor the cultures and languages of children and their families. Finally, participants will explore ways to accurately assess children who speak a home language other than English. Participants should have completed Parts 1-4 of The Creative Curriculum for Preschool or Parts 1 and 2 of Family Child Care prior to enrolling in this session.
